Some companies must perform a first audit of their energy use before December 5, 2015. The audit must then be renewed every 4 years. The companies concerned are those that: either employ more than 250 employees, or achieve an annual turnover excluding tax of more than 50 million euros or a balance sheet total of more than 43 million euros. Companies certified ISO 50001 (certified energy management system) are exempted from this obligation.
